Itinerary
After checking into the hotel, the journey starts with a trip towards some historical buildings in Bengaluru,such as the City Railway Station and the Kempegowda Bus Stand enclosing the `heart of the town as closeby is the Cubbon Park with a profusion of hotels, shops, eateries and bars that make up Brigade Road, Church Street and Commercial Street. To the north are the Sankey Tank, the Golf Course, Palace Grounds which contains the Tipu Palace. The Vidhan Soudha epitomizes the charm of the city. The Legislative House of the State is an impressive granite building and the golden Ashoka Pillar on top of the dome glints in the sun as people scurry up and down its majestic flight of stairs. Entrance to Cubbon Park starts from here, and the oaks, cassias, gulmohars stand over grassy patches and walkways. There are secluded nooks, bamboo grooves and a lotus pond, and this area also consists public buildings such as the Press Club, the State Archaeological Museum and the Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall which hosts the State Public Library. Enchanted with a visit to these significant arenas, return back to the hotel to sleep for the night!
After a satisfying breakfast, start the day with the city other major lung which is a horticultural delight called Lal Bagh known for its flora, as its ancient stone formation dates back to centuries, but is recognized for hosting bi-annual flower shows. After breakfast move towards Ranga Shankara in south Bengaluru, the city’s well-loved theatre auditorium which hosts plays. The National Gallery of Modern Art is a handsome old house called Manikyavelu Mansion and is a buzzing venue for film festivals and seminars. The art school called Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath has its own galleries and grounds which feature Indian and International contemporary art, Mysore-style paintings and folk art. The Visvesvaraya Museum is scientifically informative and whimsical; featuring turbines, aircrafts, a steam locomotive, a mechanical calculator and other artefacts that throw crowds into another realm! The Wonder La Amusement Park is touted as India's biggest water park, and the highway has on-ground rides, water slides, wave pools, restaurants and laser show and fireworks every evening. Roll the day after an early breakfast! For shopping, Brigade Road is said to be the High street of the city with a row of shops selling clothes, shoes, electronics and fast food. The Tibet Plaza stocks reasonable stuff. The Cauvery Emporium at MG Road is the place for souvenirs, handicrafts, shawls, silk, fabrics, linen and the nearby UB City, a towering complex, is the swish set shop, with all elite International brands lined up and encloses a piazza-style food court for a relaxing afternoon or evening. Commercial Street is again the city's main shopping area with big brands, fabric, silver jewellery and slippers, also having a treasure trove in the bylane shops.
